the summer has been great, the summer promotion has been super, and I'm pretty happy lately. the hours are pretty demanding, but I'll need the money when school starts, so I'm not about to complain. a lot of my campers are cute and I like doing arts and crafts with them all day(so...guess what I do for work in the summer, LOL). my coworkers and I keep a list of silly things they say. last week when we gave a lecture on not hitting each other and remembering not to touch anyone or anything without asking, this one 5 year old announced "you can touch yourself...Im touching myself right now." hysterical!
"heart skipped a beat" is just a XX song that a friend from drawing class last semester turned me on to really liking. I've spent the summer singing that, BLURRED LINES, and Get Lucky, which he also encouraged me to listen to...we still talk even though the end of the semester was kind of awkward: he made it pretty clear that he thought I was cute and he was interested in me and even though I told him expressly that he was very good-looking and we had a lot in common, there was the whole I'm-happily-attached-...-to-a-girl-haha thing to get through. he was a gentleman though, and I hope to set him up with a friend of mine in the future(whom I had to promise was straight and not bi herself, LOL).
getting to some fun stuff-I ordered a MAC palette from the Nordstrom sale! I have cooler colouring, so I got the "plum" set, but I like it so much that I might just order the "brown" one to see if I can make it work. the compact itself is canvas-coated and has a full size mirror and a two sided brush, 4 shadows, 2 lipsticks, and a blush. I dig their full face kits because theyre always pretty inclusive, but I always wait till they're sold out to buy any. I just went for it this time. I'm not 100% sure what kind of canvas covers it(it feels like its coated canvas, obviously, but I'm not sure with what. polymer?) anyway, the design is pretty...and I have blue eyes, so I can dig it, even if its a little creepy, lol. excuse the Iphone flash, per usual.
the absolute best thing other than the colours(I personally have a childish affinity for heather belles, since that's obviously a cool name, romance me is quite pretty, and I already loved mocha and syrup), and the generous size for $50, which I thought was so nice for once(face kits always cost so much more from MAC lately), was that FINALLY a company other than dior put a little hinged-lid over the lip colours in one of their full-face sets. instead of everything getting all mucked up and the wet products getting into the dry, they're all safe. I love it.
my sweetheart comes home from family vacation tomorrow--ten days apart after dating almost 15 months! the distance has KILLED me, so I'm really excited. mets are doing okay right now and jets are in training as I type this! xoxo
