nars pure matte lipstick in tonkin aka camp.

<-the only reason i know what Tonkin(a kinda beigey-mauve on me)means is because it was mentioned in some vietnam movie i liked at one point. i want to say "casualties of war" but that might be really wrong...i tend to zone out during oliver stone movies if i don't eat a good meal and get in some sedatives beforehand. i think i mention it all in that link, too.
i had oodles of silly work-related things to do this month, and i'm glad they're all over so that i could enjoy my(small-but-appreciated!)summer promotion and get down the business of finishing up things in my classroom from 2013: tie-dying with 6 year olds; cleaning out cabinets; putting in for a new position in september FINGERSCROSSED and enjoying the last week of my kids' first year of grade school. fun times. it's hard to watch children grow up, isnt it?even when they're not really mine. i hope this means i'll be a caring mom when it's my turn.

in less somber news, after some recommendations and research, i started subscribing to a makeup sample-box called ipsy(used to be glam bag)--they apparently send out a new make-up bag full of full-sized cosmetics every month. i absolutely LOVED my first box(it contained a fun glitter creme palette that i wound up passing off to a friend from the performing arts department where i take classes, since i'm not a glitter kind of girl), which was leopard print and really cute:

I really cant wait for the next delivery--one of the products wound up being a gel eyeliner from a company called cailyn, and it's absolutely dreamy! glides on nice and smooth, and i love the colour...i'm thinking of buying some more.

i had the flu/a sinus virus/whatever for a couple days closer to the middle of the month, and i spent most of my time looking up trailers for the conjuring and creeping myself out completely/getting pretty interested with the Warrens' background. i have a catatonic fear of hanged people/nooses, and while the one widely circulated promo poster features a big old noose, it's this one that's really spooking me(imagine that thing being in your own house?!?)... aughhh!.

what else...i got a new backpack for camp, since i'm 9 years old and i needed something swanky to hold my lunch and a few art supplies for two months(its the "ion blu plaid" if anyone cares, which is a gorgeous turqouse plaid and i LOVE IT TO DEATH). i actually hope to use it for my own classes come fall...SINCE ILL BE GRADUATING COLLEGE THIS YEAR! i cant believe it, but its finally true. i'm finally growing up, it seems.

north jersey has been stormy lately, so i think it's time to take advantage of the fifteen minutes of no lightning or rain and go for a run right now. more soon.

PS: SO. it's pride month(for another 4 hours)! fun fact in honour of recent progressive country news: i've been dating a girl for more than a year. the label lesbian annoys me(it sounds like kardashian)(also, i'm not one, not fully), so i never bother telling strangers about who i date, except that she is a blessing, very kind, smart, funny, and beautiful, and my family and i are lucky to have her in our lives. : )
