<--longest title ever?
sooo, we can attack this in installments.
Oh, Sandy: even though I've groused to everyone on earth about losing 8 days of work, I still have my house, my job, and my life, and I'm warm. new jersey is the most resilient place on earth and we're coping. Amen.
in more uplifting news(ease the pain, n'est-ce pas?)
*ELECTION DAY*--I hope everyone got the opportunity to vote yesterday! election coverage is fascinating to me and I'm optimistic about the next four years.
NARS Andy Warhol Edie Set: *get ready for photos!*
I have been excited for this collection for months--since before MAC Marilyn, i believe. I've had an Edie Sedgwick fascination since high school(she dated Bob Dylan!<3 <3), and seriously, everything about this set enchanted me. since we had no electricity on the 1st, I ordered it over my phone using WiFi at Starbucks(i know). it was delivered on Tuesday-election day!-and its so awesome.
the box and the container are both print with a shot of Edie in "screen test 1965", and the container itself is a 60's 16mm film canister. I really like when companies use packaging that's realistically reusable, as the canister is awesome.
the makeup inside is so legit too.
clockwise from the top, there's Deep Throat/Amour blush duo; Edie eyeshadow; Carpates eyeliner stylo, and Film Star Pure Matte.
the blush due is nicely sized, and i already use deep throat as my everyday blush. win!
Edie is an off-white cream color. i've owned it from a palette(which one, I forget)before, and it wears nicely as a base or highlighter. plus-this always has delighted me-the tiny compact comes with its own little mirror! its the little things(ha!), but really, so darling!
film star was the only product that surprised me. its listed as "mod 60's pink" so I was thinking it'd be more like Bangkok Pure Matte...its actually more of a fleshy-toned neutralish beige. not a deal breaker-I still like it-but I can see someone else being confused by the description.
i didnt take a photo of Carpates because, as is evident, I'm doing this all over my iPhone and the photos are pretty dark already. it's actually my favourite product in the whole set though--really smooth application and jet black. I'm historically a fan of pencil liners, but this was a great liquid liner. When I can, I'll post a photo(and better ones of the rest of the set). all in all--this was such a fun collector product to buy. : )
