ok, so, obviously, blogging has taken the wayside while i seriously pursue art school, falling even deeper in love(5 months strong!), and generally enjoying *finally* being some what of a real adult. that's all good stuff and i'm happy. really, life is blissful.
but anyway, i've obviously looking forward to this Marilyn Monroe for MAC collection for something like 6 months, or whenever the hell it was announced. i took the crazy route and stayed up 24 hours on the 27th just so that i wouldn't miss out on the things i wanted most: numero uno being the Forever Marilyn BP compact; any lipstick, as they sell out like crazy; and if i had time, a shiny edition smoulder pencil and any shade of nail polish. i assumed the products would go up around 12am PST, or 3AM here on the East. they went up about a quarter after 7am NY time; shit was sold out by 8ish. so how'd i do?
would you believe i got EVERYTHING i intended?!?! i was so pleased. for your viewing pleasure, my small haul, minus the nail polish(my love was inspecting it at the time):
i had originally wanted Love Goddess lipstick, like...umm..every other fan in the world, but i got Charmed, I'm Sure--which worked out great because it is beautiful!
i wore it once, the day after i received it in the mail, and promptly tucked it away, packaging and all, because its so beautiful. lovely semi-matte(it says matte but i had a bit o' sheen, which i liked), bright bluish red. it pulled a tiny bit fuchsia on me, which i liked. it looked and felt great.
smoulder pencil has been my go-to eye liner for years...the pencil is typically a matte black pencil, but this version was a shiny black pencil. same great wear as always.
finally, the one thing i was most excited about--the mirrored Forever Marilyn beauty powder compact. i have a bit of an obsession with pretty mirrored compacts(my other favourite was the pink Heatherette eye trio!), and this is honestly so gorgeous. i doubt i'll use it, even though the highlighter is pretty and goes on soft, i just like the thought of having it to take out on dates for classy touch ups. stop giggling, i know i'm weird.
the last, unphotographed item, was nail polish in kid orange. that too, was just something i liked for the packaging. you can see it here.
i honestly went into this only desperate for the BP compact and any lipstick, so i really think i made out pretty well. the real test is when the NARS x Andy Warhol collection comes out later this month and i go broke! wow...this is the most i've written in here in MONTHS, i missed it. i'll get back on board with this soon. everyone be safe, enjoy the photos, and have fun. xoxo
