mac mattene lipstick in deliciously forbidden aka frankie stein.

<---matte lipstick in a slim shine(i miss you, slim shines)shape? LOVE this formula. the color-really cutely named, of course-is a sort of quiet fuchsia on me. noticeable but not intense, i guess. sometimes matte finish can be very old ladyish on me and make me look dead(er). this feels sort of like a pro-longwear formula to me, except modified and improved a few notched. i *DO* wish there were a few more blue-based colours, though. barely relevant sidebar: i've been obsessed with dark nail colors for the past...20 years i guess, and i got a dark purple color on a whim with my last mac order called "dark majesty" and its *gorgeous*...really. dark colors obviously look really sophisticated on shorter nails and this was just dramatic enough to look chic but not goth or creepy. i like OPI colors/formulas more, so i'll probably look into their selection when my current boring french manicure is trashed. now that we've moved on from that...

so there're these monster barbies-which one of my 2nd graders told me arent barbies, but mattel makes them and they're playing dolls...so they're barbies, kid-that have been around for a couple years. i didnt know that. i also didnt know how freaking awesome they were either! barbies were so lame when i was a little girl, with their frozen expressions and anatomically impossible dimensions(i loved them, happily clueless, until i was about ten, though). these new monster barbies are--kinda the same dimensions, to be honest, but their appearances are so much more fun for little trendy kids. the one i was introduced to this week during tutoring was a subtly mummified cleopatra(think sarcophagus handbag and mummy-wrap leggings)and she had the same haircut and eyeliner as me and i just fell completely in love. i went to target the other night to find my own cleo barbie-whatever, at least i'm honest-and found: a zombie, who looked too animated to be fun, and a girlie frankenstein. A GIRLIE FRANKENSTEIN!! and she's adorable!

i couldn't be more impressed. <3
